Ascension Quests

These quests all revolve around gathering the 3 Artifacts needed to Ascend. There are several things that must be done and each item has a series of little quests to follow along the way. This page will deal with each Artifact and the series of actions that will ultimately lead to obtaining the item. (Some steps listed are not required and can be performed out of sequence or not at all but are listed here as a chronicle of the events.)
 
At some point you will likely encounter Bela, a vendor or so it seems. He knows a great deal about "Ascending" and the Cosmic Lords. He will actually tell you to find the 3 Artifacts and Disarm the bomb in the Tower of Arnika. He is also the only one to meet you on Ascension Peak at the entrance to the Cosmic Circle. Bela will lead the way to the final confrontation.
 
Upper Monastery (#1): Altheides gives the Ascension Quest
 

Astral Dominae

 
Reward: Gain possession of the Astral Dominae.
Reward: Gain possession of the Fake Astral Dominae.
Reward: He'Li, He'Li's Bar, Arnika will give you an Ale.
Reward: Optional: Kill Don Barlone and Milano for 3 to 7 items from Don Barlone's Drop Treasure List and a Fire Bomb, Jazeraint Tunic, Leather Boots, Stud Chausses, Thieves Dagger, random number of Throwing Stilettos, plus 1-2 more items from Milano's Drop Treasure List.
 
Arnika-Trynton Road #3:  Encounter with Rattus Rattus.
 
Rattkin Tree #4:  You will need to tell Milano a password to get an audience with Don Barlone. Your first encounter with the Rattkin Razuka Godfather, Don Barlone, results in him giving you some background info and then he tells you to return to him later.
 
Swamp: Encounter the Dark Savant.
 
Rattkin Tree #4: Return to Don Barlone after the Dark Savant appears in the Swamp. The last step in obtaining the Astral Dominae is complete. Obtain the Astral Dominae by forking over around 90,000 gold. If you don't have a need for the Don's services it can be obtained via force.
 

Chaos Moliri

 
Reward: Gain possession of the Chaos Moliri
Reward: He'Li, He'Li's Bar Arnika will give you a Tincture of Shadows. All others are chronicled on the Umpani and T'Rang Quest pages.
 
The Chaos Moliri requires a bit more effort. You first perform a series of quests for either the T'Rang or the Umpani before you can even get close to it. Once those quests are performed Chaos is all yours. Or you can kill Z'Ant or Yamir to gain a Mook Alliance Letter.
 
Arnika, Townhall: Obtain the Chaos Moliri.
 

Destinae Dominus

 
The real adventure revolves around the Destinae Dominus. This Artifact actually resided in the Higardi Monastery  for ages where your adventure usually begins. A man named Marten decided to pull off the heist of the century and ran off with it, which certainly doesn't make things very easy for you. There are multiple hints and clues pointing you in its general direction and about half the quest of finding it revolves around detective work.
 
Reward: Gain possession of the Destinae Dominus
Reward: He'Li, He'Li's Bar Arnika will give you an Ale and a Spell Book of Heal All.
 
Arnika: Gain access to the HLL Building to speak to Tramain. 
 
Trynton Upper Branches #12: Learn your destiny. 
Reward: 25,000 experience points.
 
Lower Marten's Bluff #8: Find  "the words" requested by the Shaman. 
 
Marten's Bluff #6: Obtain Marten's Idol. 
 
Obtaining the Idol has a nasty little repercussion, one of your party members will be kidnapped. It can be handled one of four ways:
 
Reward: (for killing the frog) 75,000 experience
Reward: (for killing Crock) random amount of gold, Eau D'Rapax Perfume, Large Prism, Magic Polish, Voltage Amplifier, 2-8 random items from Crock's Treasure Drop List and 3-5 random items from Crock's Chest.
Swamp #1: Crock will demand you kill an oversized frog named Brekek. 

1) Kill the frog.
2) Kill Crock prior to obtaining the idol and no kidnapping occurs.
3) Or kill Crock after the kidnapping and proceed upstairs to his bedroom and open the chest located there for your party member to be returned.
4) Don't grab the idol at all. If you elect to do this it opens up a whole new can of worms.

 
Trynton Upper Branches #15: Get the Serenity Key from Shaman Das.
 
Rattkin Tree #1: Using the Serenity Key obtain the Serenity Helm from the chest here.
 
Sea Caves #15: Gain entrance to Marten's Tomb and obtain the Destinae Dominus.
Reward: 400,000 experience and the Destinae Dominus.
You can obtain the Destinae Dominus by speaking to Marten.
Alternate Reward: Death Shroud, Destinae Dominus, Key to Marten's Tomb
Alternate: Kill Marten.
 

Tie Up Loose Ends

 
Final things to be sure are complete before ascending.
 
Reward #1: 500,000 experience
Reward #2: See Lord Braffit in the Arnika Temple and tell him the "Bomb is deactivated" for 40,000 experience.
 
Savant Tower, Arnika: Deactivate the bomb. 
 

Ascending

 
Reward: Opens passage so the Cosmic Circle can be accessed.
Ascension Peak: Place the three Artifacts in their designated receptacles in any order.
You must answer two riddles for Altheides to gain access to the receptacle for each Artifact.
 
Reward: You are Cosmic Lords! Congratulations.
Cosmic Circle: Choose your fate.
Travel to Ascension Peak #6 and take the portal to the Cosmic Circle. Confront the Dark Savant and choose one of three possible endings.
