Should you decide to ally yourself to the Umpani the series of quests that follow will be requested of you. Usually one mission will need to be completed before another is given in the following sequence. |
The following quests will be initiated by Sgt. Balbrak, Umpani
Base Camp #4. Report back to him after each mission is complete until otherwise instructed.

Mission: Enlist in the I.U.F.
Reward: 500 experience, I.U.F. Security Card Level 1 Criteria: The I.U.F. is looking for a few good men... and women.... or anything else willing to enlist. Details: Speak to Sgt. Balbrak and simply agree to enlist. |
Mission: Complete the Obstacle Course
Reward: 5,000 experience, I.U.F. Security Card Level 2 Criteria: Sgt. Rubble, Umpani Base Camp #7, is awaiting new recruits for testing. Details: Speak to Sgt. Rubble to gain entry to the obstacle course. Make it through to point #7a. |
Mission: Reconnaissance
Reward: 40,000 experience, I.U.F. Security Card Level 3 Reward: 2,500 gold Reward: Ale Criteria: The I.U.F. needs to know if there is a T'Rang presence on Dominus. Details: Obtain anything 100% T'Rang. Find and return with the T'Rang Arm from Marten's Bluff (#2). Give the arm to Balbrak who will return it to you. Then speak to Kunar in the Commissary (#3) to receive the gold. Sgt. Bildublu at Yamo's Roadhouse (#2) will give the party a drink for their "good work" so far. |
Mission: Additional Training, Target Practice
Reward: 5,000 experience, rocket launcher & rockets, +10 Modern Weapon skill for those who can learn it Criteria: The I.U.F. wants to be certain you can "distinguish your rear end from a rocket launcher". Details: Sgt. Rubble has moved into the Mt. Gigas Upper Caves #6. Speak to him here to obtain the experience and items. Practice at the Firing Range for the skill increase. Place your Security Card on the machine at #4. The machine will basically short out and reject your card. A panel falls off the rear of the machine and there are 3 wires which will be disconnected and exposed. Reconnect the wires, color for color, from left to right. Once the machine has been "repaired" place your Security Card on it once again so the doors to the training areas will open. |
Mission: Covert Ops Training
Reward: 50,000 experience, I.U.F. Security Card Level 4 Criteria: Obtain 5 flags. Details: Sgt. Rubble instructs you to report to him in Covert Ops at point Mt. Gigas Upper Caves #7 once you have finished at the target range. He sends you on a mission in this section to obtain 5 Flags. Once all 5 flags have been gathered return to him and turn in the flags for the reward. All your characters must be alive to receive the reward and be granted a Mission completed. |
Mission: Deliver Alliance Letter to the
Mook
Reward: 160,000 experience, I.U.F. Security Card Level 5 Reward: Bottle of Old Jake's (4 uses) Criteria: The I.U.F. wants to establish peaceful relations with the Mook. Details: Deliver an Alliance letter to the Mook in the Arnika Town Hall and return with their answer. Again Sgt. Bildublu at Yamo's Roadhouse Umpani Base Camp (#2) will give the party some booze for a job well done. |
(At this point you may now obtain the Chaos Moliri.)
Ascension Quests
Now the party will need to report directly to General Yamir in the Mt. Gigas Upper Caves #12 from here on out for their Mission Instructions. |
Mission: Rescue
Reward: I.U.F. Security Card Level 6 Reward: 300,000 experience Reward: 100,000 experience Reward: Ale Criteria: Some soldiers are M.I.A. Details: General Yamir will give you the Security Card and instruct you to report to the Underwater Tactical Unit (U.T.U.) for training. Place your new Security Card on the machine at #4 to open the U.T.U. doors (#5). First speak to Sgt. Rubble who instructs you to "suit up" with the scuba gear in this area. Speak again to Rubble once each party member has equipped the scuba gear. Now he tells you this is "on the job" training, discusses magic use underwater, and sends you off to locate any survivors of a reconnaissance team who were exploring the water caves. Basically make your way through the Water Caves, Bayjin Shallows, and enter Bayjin. Glumph is locked in a cell of the hut at #1. Recruit him into the party and return to Yamir. Once returned to Mt. Gigas and speaking to Yamir Glumph will leave the party and the experience rewards will be granted. (THANK THE GODDESS! I really can't stand this guy's attitude!) Yet again Sgt. Bildublu at Yamo's Roadhouse in the Umpani Base Camp (#2) will give the party an ale because Glumph looks like he needs one. Glumph must be in the party to get a drink. Alternate Reward: If you stumble upon Glumph and are not allied with the Umpani he will not join the party, however he will award 50,000 experience for opening his cell and speaking to him. He then apparently makes his own way home once you leave his zone. |

Mission: Destroy T'Rang Mothership
Reward: Pulse Pick Reward: 100,000 experience Reward: 500,000 experience Criteria: The age old war between the T'Rang and Umpani still rages. Details: Yamir requests destruction of the T'Rang Mothership and gives you a pulse pick to assist in completing the mission when he assigns it. Travel to Lower Marten's Bluff (#12) first and turn the switch on the machine here to the red position. Next move to the computer near Z'Ant (#2) which interfaces with the T'Rang Mothership. Use the computer to order an increase in breeding rates. This causes the ship to explode and completes the mission for the first experience reward. Report back to General Yamir for the second experience reward. |
Although Yamir gives you a mission to gather the 3 Artifacts and meet him at Ascension Peak, you will never see him there. You're on your own Pups! |
