Wizardry 8 is home to many kinds of creatures, ranging from the mischievous Trynnies to the fearsome undead Death Lord. Here are just a few beasts you may encounter:

Apus |

Death Lords |
|
Death Lords are the most powerful variety of undead. Created by the most powerful wizards, these fearsome beings guard hidden tombs and abandoned ruins. Single Death Lords have been known to slay entire armies. Fortunately, they are quite rare.

Depth Dweller |
Depth Dwellers infest abandoned areas beneath the island city of Bayjin. These amphibious pests breed rapidly. While they subsist mainly on small sea creatures, Depth Dwellers are more than happy to munch on anyone foolish enough to intrude into their underwater hideaways.

Fire Elemental |

Golem |
|
These huge, magically-animated statues are slow, stupid, and massively strong. Tireless and completely loyal, golems are often used as guards.

Lava Lord |
This fearsome, molten creature is feared and worshipped by the inhabitants of the Rapax Rift. The Rapax offer up a constant stream of live sacrifices to stay on the Lava Lord's good side. Some say the Lava Lord is a servant of Al-Sedexus; others claim the Lava Lord roamed the volcanic valley even before the demon goddess arrived.

Mook |
|
The peaceful, curious Mook came to Dominus to investigate a strange legend of men ascending to become gods. Much to their surprise, they have become entangled in a vast struggle with powerful forces seeking the same knowledge. While Mooks normally avoid battle, they are formidable opponents, combining massive strength with superior intelligence.

Picus |
|
The bird-like Picus is normally a peaceful forest creature. However, many species will defend themselves if provoked or surprised. A few of the larger varieties of Picus are carnivorous, and will hunt down even human prey.

Rapax Guard |
Hated and feared by all the other inhabitants of Dominus, the Rapax care nothing for the opinions of others. Concerned only with their own pleasure and power, the Rapax view the other races of Dominus only as obstacles to be eliminated. The Rapax fear only one thing: Al-Sedexus, their demon goddess.

Roach |
|
A wide variety of insects live on the world of Dominus, ranging from the tiniest gnat to huge specimens like the Giant Roach. These human-sized carrion eaters are generally peaceful, but will attack anyone who disturbs their feeding.

Savant Henchmen |
These repulsive biomechanical creatures are the creations of the Dark Savant. They serve as his shock troops on the world of Dominus, keeping the local population at bay while the Savant searches for the means to ascend to the Cosmic Circle.

Seeker |
|
These small, swift predators don't look very lethal, yet they can still spell doom to the unwary adventurer. Packs of seekers, attacking rapidly with their sucker-like jaws and flailing tails, can overwhelm even a well-prepared party.

Trynnie Hunter |
At first glance, the small, chattering Trynnie don't look too threatening. Yet the Trynnie have had to become highly effective hunters to survive in their forest home. A Trynnie hunter can throw his spear to bring down his prey from a distance, or use it to fight hand-to-hand if the hunter becomes the hunted.

The Umpani |
|
An expansionistic race whose influence on a myriad of worlds is based on twin pillars of trade and military strength. Their motto is, "Duty-Power-Victory." The Umpani are bitter rivals of both the spider-like T'Rang and the Dark Savant.
