themortal sense for critical, i suppose i should max that first. The there is dex
& speed, dunno if i should raise one before the other (snakespeed
is reached for speed, dont remember the one for dex, i'm just at level
8btw about skills, some kind of giroml Eh? I don't think Ranger have access to Critical Strike as a skill. Yes they crit with bows but it's not a skill they pump points into. I could be wrong here. I pump Bow, Ranged Combat & Scouting for Rangers, if any of those max I pump Sword maybe and then things that other people usually slack on, maybe Mythology and Artifacts...stuff like that. Ranger can be a do all that stuff that others don't have time to do because he doesn't have a plethora of skills he needs to bump up, same with fighter. Although the fighter usually a little too stupid to do such things as artifacts and mythology, hehe. giroml As for stats I raise whatever corresponds with Bow, I think it is Strength & Dex, then whatever corresponds with Ranged, I think Intelligence and Senses. (Jandrall note: Confirmed) Silver_Vulpes If you're ranger is in the backrow your second weapon skill choice(after bow maxes) should be a polearm - or any good extended weapon really. Incase they run out of ammo(which is rare once you hit mid game) you'll still be able to help out the frontrow with your ranger.(course you could cast spells as well) Maxing dex gives you the 'reflection' skill - it improves ac but if your ranger is in the backrow this shouldn't matter nearly as much as the improved initiative 'snake speed' gives you. sadboy I think the ranged skills are the best. Bearcub One of the best bows, the mighty bow requires strength to use. So strenght is important (Jandrall note: it also affects damage from bows ofcourse) LethalBlade I believe Rangers use their "Ranged Combat" skill to determine their crits... (Jandrall note: Confirmed)
