Samurai Development

The professional bonus of the Samurai to Lightning Strike may be one of the least understood occurrences in this game. Much discussion and experimentation has gone on to try and determine just what can be done in development that will increase the Lightning Strike frequency. Still no one truly knows.

Apart from this rare and welcome gift of Lightning Strike the Samurai development should be based on just what role they will have in the party. As with any melee character Dexterity, Strength, and Speed will increase number of attacks and damage output. Senses, though not a professional requirement should receive at least enough attention to reach a midrange value to aid the Samurai in developing Close and Ranged Combat, Critical Strike, and Dual Weapons skills.

Intelligence becomes a developmental concern should the Samurai be slated to be a major magic user for the party. If the intent is to only use their magic for a few protections then the starting value will be sufficient to get the job done.

There are always favored races for this profession but perhaps some not so obvious choices exist that will surprise you. Experiment a bit.
