Yanmir's Fort Map
Perception: 10
Lock Difficulty: 10
Trap Deadliness: 6
Treasure Level: 3
Creatures: Big Foot, Ice Lobbers, Thralls, Forest Giants

The Forest Giants move in after Yanmir is defeated, there goes the neighborhood! We had fun luring them to "human section" of the fort and plinking at them from under cover.

Chests abound here and you can collect a lot of loot if you've a mind to. Be certain to stop by Yanmir's bedroom (2) and grab the loot from the Black Chest there.

Destroy the Frost Giant

Basically you try to avoid Yanmir your entire time here. To do this stay away from the central large rooms. Skirt around the outer edges to first discover a chest containing a clue (1) about weakened floor struts. You'll need to fight your way past Yeti's and Thralls and make your way to the secret door (3) behind a bookcase. Avoid taking the key (4) or talking to the children (5) until later.

Once you make it to the secret door head down the stairs and take out the Ice Lobbers along the way. You will come to an area where you'll see weakened floor struts (3a). If your perception is high enough many will show red. Simply break these by hitting them or shooting them. All but the farthest set from where you enter will break. Be sure to bust out each side, the struts run in pairs but break as singles.

Now head for the Lobber panty (3b) and raise a ruckus. (You can trigger Yanmir any number of ways but this nets you some additional exp and loot.) Make lots of noise, kill the appetizers and pretty soon Yanmir comes charging out of the Dining Hall and goes BOOM!

Now if you are looking for a logical explanation as to why knocking the struts out at 3a will cause the floor at 3c to cave in, well... Ask an Architect. (Maybe the automap is on the fritz but this was where it indicated the weak struts were located.)

Now grab the Key, let the children free and return to Frosgard and give Ravenlocks the good news. The children never actually make it out of here and if you return you can find them still wandering about. It sort of leaves the quest with an "unfinished" feeling but you will get credit for the quest nonetheless.
