Beet Hoven

Entry Level Walkthru
& Strategy
|
|
|
|
This first level of
the Hoven is a primer that can overwhelm you or you can use it to your advantage.
Ranged attack is a must to navigate this level successfully.

|
We tumbled down into the joint from Ludwig
Van's pantry and landed at point A. No matter which way we turned to find
an exit (E) we had to go through at least two lobbers.
|
|
The lobbers dangling overhead spit out
their offspring at an alarming rate once you come close enough to trigger
them. Go slowly and try not to overlook one or you'll have the kids all over
your six while you face another. They can surround you and overcome the party
almost immediately.
|
|
|
We walked right into the room where
the ladder (L) leads to the second level, decided to snoop a bit more upstairs
and turned to leave. We got halfway down the passage before we realized what
had happened. Two lobbers in one room does not make life interesting at this
point, it just ends it.

|
So here we are again, only much wiser.
Employing TBCM we let X amount of offspring come into existence to help
gain experience by reversing their status back to nonexistence. When it got
a bit much we'd concentrate on dear ole ma and knock her off her roost. These
beasts usually have some fairly nice starter items. Spell and skill books
were what we sought most, although they drop a smattering of other items.
Scrolls seem to abound and we landed a couple nice enchanted pieces of jewelry.

|
|
All in all its a nice place to gain
a little extra experience, pick up some goodies, and make a spot of gold
from excess junk. Just try to get to the site where you killed the dangling
lobber shortly after you kill it. The loot bags tend to be difficult to spot
in the water after a few moments have passed.
