NPC and Monster Loot
Most NPC's and monsters have a list of 20 to 30 items that they can drop. The following lists were posted, along with the Chests List, a few months back on the Spoiler Board. I have organized them into NPC and Monster Lists. Not all NPC's are listed, for instance Tramain, a couple of the recruitable NPCs, and most of the minor Umpani NPC's are missing from the NPC list. The drop list for an NPC is the same list of items that you can Pickpocket from them, and if you Pickpocket all items from an NPC, they won't drop anything when killed.
The monster list only covers the general types: Higardi, T'Rang, Umpani, Rapax, Trynnie, and Rattkin. It does cover the Slime drop however, which is basically all of the items the slimes in the Monestary can drop. That is the only regular monster type listed. I have also added below another post from the Spoiler Board that tells where to find a few of good items.

Any Sprite type NPC can drop the Sprites daggers. Also water & wind sprites can drop a cap that is fairie only. Another thing is the Ring is called a Fey Ring which can also drop off water & wind sprites.

Bard stuff -- Higardi Bandits and Highwaymen have chances to drop
most of the bard items, such as: Mercucio's blade, prospero's cloak,
ariels slippers, and maybe (I can't remember so please confirm)
Flynn's cap. You can also get Shadow cloaks and rings of protection
from them.
Geo-,hydro-,pryo-, and aeromancers all have a tiny % chance to drop
a ring named after them that gives you +1 AC and 5% resistance to
their specific element PLUS +10 magic skill their element (nice!)
Those Rattkin archers in the tree have small chances to drop some
killer ammo, I've gotten mystic arrows, armor piercers and once even
peacemakers from them. Just keep on fighting them, they always drop
something...
Tree sprites will very rarely drop a sprites dagger, something well
worth a faerie ninja's time because in addition to the nice damage
for an off-hand weapon (up to 14 I think) it gives +1 stamina regen
too.
Finally, I *think* I had wind sprite drop a for me
in my first party (a long time ago for me to remember it) a cursed
ring that gives you something you don't want, but also a lot of
other skills that would be beneficial to a faerie ninja. I think it
was a hefty bonus to stealth and close combat but I'm not sure
